Jesus’ Innumerable Works - John 21:25 Commentary

Scripture

John 21:25 (NKJV)

And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

Commentary

John 21:25 serves as the concluding statement of the Gospel of John. It highlights the vastness of Jesus' works and miracles, suggesting that His recorded deeds are just a fraction of His entire ministry. The writer, the apostle John, emphasizes that Jesus' life was so full of miracles and teachings that documenting every single event would be impossible. This verse reminds us of the depth and richness of Jesus' ministry and encourages believers to continually seek to understand and appreciate His life and teachings.

The verse invites us to marvel at the enormity of Jesus' impact. It challenges us to consider that what we know from the Gospels is only the tip of the iceberg. Jesus' life was a continuous outpouring of love, healing, teaching and much more. Reflecting on this can deepen our faith and trust in Him. We are encouraged to keep learning, exploring and experiencing His presence in our lives, knowing there is always more to discover about Him.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for the Gospels and the glimpses they provide into Your life and ministry. Help us to grow in our understanding and appreciation of You. Open our hearts and minds to continually seek You and learn more about Your love and power. May our lives reflect Your teachings and may we be instruments of Your grace and truth. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Action Steps
