The Majesty of Jesus

Scripture

Psalm 45:8 (NIV)

All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.

Reflection

This verse in Psalm 45 paints a beautiful picture of the majesty and delight of the King. The imagery of fragrant robes and the joyous sound of music suggests a scene of honor and celebration. This is a Messianic psalm which points to the character of Christ and the love between Him and His Bride, the Church. It is a wedding song of love, much like Song of Solomon, which expresses detailed extravagance and the beauty of Jesus.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, we praise You as the majestic King described in Psalm 45. May the fragrance of Your grace and the beauty of Your presence fill our lives. Let our worship bring joy to Your heart. Help us to honor and adore You in every aspect of our lives. Make us the Bride that You desire.

Action Steps

  1. Spread the Fragrance of Christ: Reflect on the grace you have received from Jesus. Extend that grace to others, allowing the fragrance of Christ to permeate your interactions. Be a representation of His love to those around you.

  2. Adorn Your Life with Worship: Consider incorporating moments of worship into your daily routine. Whether through music, prayer or reflection on God's Word, create a sacred space in your life that honors and celebrates the King. Invite Him into your mundane routine and He will make it holy.

  3. Express Gratitude: Acknowledge the goodness of the King in your prayers. Express gratitude for His presence, guidance and the joy that comes from a relationship with Him.
